This picture was taken earlier in 2008 year in a classroom at Aloha College. This was Angela's classroom 25 years ago and Michael put the shelves up one weekend. The shelves (and the school) are still going strong!

Angela and Michael Drury in a classroom at Aloha College

Angela’s School is run by Angela and Michael Drury, both highly experienced teachers each with 35 years of teaching in the British and international system. Both were trained as teachers at the Hillside Teacher Training College in Bulawayo in Zimbabwe.

After leaving Zimbabwe in 1979 to come to live in Spain in Marbella, both were fortunate enough to continue their teaching careers at Swans School in Marbella, before leaving to co-found the Aloha College Marbella in October 1982 with Michael as the first director of the college.

After leaving Aloha College in 1984, Michael started the Marbella Study Centre which grew from a small group of Spanish children that Angela had been teaching at home into the highly successful centre that it is today. Angela’s School grew out of the Marbella Study Centre.

Angela is Team Leader of the Cambridge Oral Examiners group on the coast and is responsible for training and organising Oral Examiners for the Cambridge exams from beginners through to Proficiency levels. The photo above was taken during one of the Cambridge English Exam sessions held at Aloha College every year.

Both do contract English teaching with young adults in the vocational training courses for the hotel training school Hotel Escuela Bellamar very close to Angela's School.

You will see all five members of the teaching team across on the summer school courses page.
